This year we were lucky enough to have 10 teams again. These consisted of 5 senior teams and 5 junior teams. We have had a very rough season with players leaving due to work commitments and health issues. We also had to pull our Under 17's team due to a lot of different things which couldn't be helped. This was unfortunate as they were just starting to work together and looked like they were having fun. Also, our highest Seniors team the D1's got lowered to D2's but just couldn't find their mojo due to having to find and use a lot of different fill in players throughout the season which never helps as the team can't gel properly.
Although we had a pretty rough season, we still managed to get 7 teams into the finals. These teams were the U11s coached by Courtney who made it to the Semi Finals but were knocked out in a good game, U13s coached by Carly and assistant coach Sarah who made it all the way through to the Grand Final but in a hard played game went down by 1 goal, U15s coached by Anthony also made it into the Grand Final but were unfortunate and didn't manage to come away with the win, Seniors D6 Red coached by Emma made it to the Preliminary Final and were unable to take out the win in what was a good game to watch , D6 Black coached by Emily made it into the Elimination Final but were knocked out by Emma' s D6 team, D5 coached by Shane made it into the Grand Final and in a nail biting game which went right down to the wire managed to take out the win and D3 coached by Anthony also went onto play in the Grand Final and in a great and competitive game managed to take out the win.
We also had another couple of accomplishments on the Finals night with Anthony's D3 team taking out the trophy for most goals scored in the association for the Season and Carly taking out the award for Player of the Match for their grade. While Ashliegh in the D5 team also took out the award for Player of the Match for their grade. These players of the match awards were voted by the umpires on the night and not the coaches or spectators. So well done to those awards winners.
We would like to thank everyone who played and coached this season. You all did an amazing job this season and we hope to see you all back again for the upcoming Winter 2024 season.
We would like to thank all of the parents for bringing their children out every week to play. We would also like to thank all of our supporters and helpers who showed up each week for games and like to give a big THANKYOU to all of our coaches and team managers for all of the hard work you have put in and to the umpires, Thankyou because without you the games can't go ahead.
Lastly, we would like to thank all of our Sponsors for helping out with donations for our BBQ's and raffles throughout the season.
